Oyama Tea Farm
Available December 1
A single-origin tea made exclusively from the Saemidori cultivar.
Early in the season, Shin Saemidori is made with Saemidori grown in lower-elevation fields and is available from the new-tea season through around autumn. Once this early-season tea is sold out, the tea transitions to Saemidori grown in the mountain fields.
Saemidori is prized for its natural sweetness and has become increasingly popular in the tea market. This year, Oyama Seicha-en’s Saemidori also achieved the highest market price when sold as aracha (unrefined tea).
During processing, the factory fills with Saemidori’s distinctive sweet aroma. In the cup, it offers a gentle sweetness that lingers pleasantly on the palate.
The name “Shin” (芯) comes from the name of Yoshitaka Oyama’s second daughter.
